Have you heard the inspection timetable? The inspectors can't even get into Iraq for a month - after that it could take up to a year to find out for sure. Furthermore, the Iraqi offer doesn't say anything about unfettered. This is a figment of media imagination. It just says "we are ok with inspectors coming back without preconditions". It goes on to say something about respecting Iraqi sovereignty etc. These are code words for - don't search in my palaces! The brutal dictator has 50+ palaces - can designate anything as a palace - could be biological/chemical weapon labs underneath - who knows? Do you really want to take a chance with this guy? I wouldn't. Get rid of him pronto and move on...

" But cooperation with inspections does not necessarily mean compliance with disarmament demands, a conclusion inspectors cannot begin to draw until the process is well underway.
“We could report within a year,” the UNMOVIC official said, “though some think that is far too long. ... But if you want an effective system, you can’t be too hasty.” "

What about the one country that definitely has WMD and has shown its willingness to use them: the United States!
