Rock, re your statement I believe there is an ulterior motive at work here. American oil companies want to control Iraq's oil resources and the Bush Admin is doing their bidding by whipping up this war hysteria against Saddam.

You seem to have quite a negative view of Bush. I won't try to convince you otherwise, but on the issue of supporting the oil companies you've got it backwards. If the American oil companies were put in control of the Iraqi oil fields, American technology and capital would quickly increase Iraqi oil production to the point that it would drive down world oil prices. The ideal situation for the American oil companies is for countries such as Iraq that have enormous oil reserves to be in a continual state of turmoil so they can't produce high volumes that would drive down prices.

In reality, if Bush aimed to let the American oil companies into Iraq, it would be of great benefit to the world economy (and you) by lowering world oil prices.
