"Oh the tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive." It looks as though Bush is hoisted on his own petard being called by Saddam. Even so, he continues to push for war: ("The US administration moves to get support from Congress for action against Iraq, despite Saddam Hussein's arms inspections offer.")

It certainly makes sense that Saddam would prefer big piles of money, peace, a worshipful group of citizens who proclaim him "hero" for avoiding war. It will look bad to most of the world and most thoughtful folks in this country if Bush pursues war in spite of Saddam's concession. Granted the guy can't be trusted, but with whom will they replace Saddam? Chances are 50/50 it will be someone even worse.
