There exists an unfortunate alliance between some radical Islamic factions and leftist groups, including such publications as The Village Voice and The Nation

Nowhere near the strength of the alliance between the Islamists and DOD/CIA in the late '70s and 80s which trained the mujahadeen in weapons and tactics and supplied billions of dollars.

Compared to that, any commentary by the Village Voice makes no difference to anyone.
