Government security officials on Thursday were interrogating seven "most wanted terrorists," one of whom is suspected of masterminding a suicide car bombing which killed 11 French engineers, said a report.

Some intelligence officials believe the group was also planning an assassination attempt on President Pervez Musharraf during his visit to Karachi this week. The government said the seven people it described as "most wanted terrorists" were arrested during a six-hour operation in different neighbourhoods of Karachi. "All the arrested terrorists are Pakistanis and are presently being interrogated to ascertain which terrorist organisations they belong to."
