Rascal You said The "privatization" which turns the process over to the usual suspects is what bothers me.

Does this mean you think those who have managed the fund to date have not behaved like Rascals themselves?

It is pretty clear that nothing can prevent INTENT from happening in Business or Governement. The executives at Enron and any other who raped their companies are exceptions, agregious as they are.

But Considering the spending behavior of perpetualy elected Senators as in West Virginia, they continue to thrive and promote their personal agendas against the rest of the US taxpayers. I would draw a direct comparison to those executives. Byrd builds monuments to himself and some executives plunder for the same reasons, so that they can live above those they serve.

What we need is a revolution of the heart, where any such behavior toward plunder is unacceptable, where all sides understand that for every deal done, someone else is plundered, without recourse. We need a revolution of action where the rape of 2nd parties to any scheme is sworn off and called what it is.

Politicians have an continuing abysmal track record for utilizing taxpayer dollars. While campaigning we hear the usual platitudes and understanding for the needs of the country. But these metaphors are used with such impunity and with so little respect for their respective truths as to be laughable.

I for one would welcome a choice, scare tactics which posit FUD about outcomes, are really just more of the same ole spin to keep the status quo in place and thriving without respect to past performance.

Agreed, I share your concern.

Mandate only index investments perhaps?

Who knows where it will go... but IMO the deceptive marketing in this instance belongs to the dems.
