in those stocks is discounting an increase in mortgage defaults over the next 3 to 6 months.

In theory, can't help but wonder how far JPMs price would have to fall - below zero - to reflect the extent to which the black hole of it's derivatives exposure exceeds the total assets of the company.<g>

Come to think of it, that would be a good question for our resident statistician, Jim Wooley. What do you think, Jim?
