No, it's your stupid questions that are the joke. You can't manage to understand a simple news account that says UN diplomats won't pressure Iraq, asking instead "what's your point?" And when I spell it out for you, along with the implications and how Bush dealt with them, you object on the basis that the news report didn't say all that. That's just stupid, GST. Nit-picking and stupid.

And NO, I DID NOT SAY Powell told the President to do anything. But I AM SAYING that Powell went to the Congress and the UN and told them that the administration was considering all it's options, including military action, if that's what it takes to disarm Saddam - the POINT being to DISARM Saddam.

Let's see if another news report from last February can light the dim bulb over your head. Probably won't help - you're either too stupid or too stubborn to even admit that the US government has officially said since 1998 that Saddam must go, even after Bill tried to show you the truth with links to the legislation, Congressional reports and other sources. But I'll try anyway:

NY TIMES | FOREIGN DESK | February 7, 2002, Thursday
A NATION CHALLENGED: DIPLOMACY; U.S. Weighs Tackling Iraq On Its Own, Powell Says

By TODD S. PURDUM (NYT) 752 words
Late Edition - Final, Section A, Page 14, Column 5

ABSTRACT - Secretary of State Colin L Powell tells Congress that Pres Bush is set on 'regime change' in Iraq and warns that United States might do it alone; says United Nations weapons inspectors must have 'unfettered right' to conduct searches throughout Iraq for suspected weapons sites; says Bush is examining 'full range of options'; remarks amount to Powell's strongest embrace of Bush's linkage of Iraq and Iran and North Korea in 'axis of evil'; but Powell suggests that in Iran and North Korea, some dialogue is possible (M)

I'll even give you one more little bit of help - hate to see you struggling to understand. Powell repeated the US view that Saddam will never willingly give up his WMDs and will most likely have to be replaced (the "regime change" policy dating back to 1998 - try reading it). And he said the UN must tell Iraq to 'disarm or else' and that if they won't, then the US might have to "do it alone."

Can you reason your way through it now or is it still too complicated for you?
