Saddam's recent offer of unconditional inspections wasn't actually unconditional. His offer covered only inspection of military bases and excludes sites he deems civilian, like his many large palaces. Incidentally, over the last decade, while the people of Iraq suffer under sanctions, Saddam has found sufficient funds to build and expand his numerous luxurious palaces.

Any inspections Saddam approves will certainly find nothing. But you shouldn't doubt he has WMD's. There have been a number of defectors from his regime that have provided that info. Just hope he hasn't got an atomic bomb yet.

I know you are a green, Mr. GrAsso. Do you remember the environmental catastrophe Saddam created as his troops were withdrawing from Kuwait? In an act of spite, he had every single oil well in the country blown up. They burned out of control for many months. Also he once turned on a pipeline dumping crude into the Persian Gulf. We shut that flow off quickly though. Wonder what kind of good bye to Saddam present he has prepared for the world?
