If you think taxes are too high, then you need to make a list of which government programs to eliminate or reduce: Education? Defense? Head Start? Free lunches for poor school kids? Highway repair?

Problem is, most people want more government services, not less, so that means it's most difficult to provide more government services by cutting taxes.

I do agree with you 100% on complexity/aggravation of tax returns.

Well, JDN two powerful groups will never allow that to happen, the flat tax that is, wealthy Americans and Lawyers both of which stand to lose large if a flat tax were imposed.
