The short answer is that their forecasts for the progression of their own business have tended to come to pass. The long answer is beyond my typing ability.

Also, while the first few hundred shares were bought in bubble times-with bubble money-and they keep my average cost up there, most of the shares have been purchased more recently at better prices. Still, it is my largest holding, and a higher % of my net worth than I would normally devote to one investment.
