Isn't it amazing that what the American people vote for is a greedy cabal headed by the Bush family that is only interested in furthering their own self interests?

It can't be any clearer to anyone who has an inkling about how this country really functions. The Republican party is a big slush fund for the wealthy/elites corporate interests in this country. They'll do anything they can to funnel money into their pet projects like defense and away from social programs that benefit everyone else. I mean, I can understand the rich supporting the Republican party, but the middle and lower classes' interests are definitely better served by the Democratic or Green party. The Republicans are definitely the party of the rich and they do everything they can to support their interests, from funneling money into defense to killing regulations that benefit the average Joe to cutting social spending for the poor.

THE TALL TREES OF FREEDOM REDUCED TO A SHRUB

flapjack,

Watching the PBS News Hour tonight was an episode of schizophrenia. Don Rumsfeld, who in the morning was heckled, jeered and protested against in Congress ("INPECTIONS NOT WAR! INSPECTIONS NOT WAR!" was the chant)
was on the News Hour being interviewed, if you can call it that, by Jim Lehrer who wast softer than a soggy tapioca pudding with Rummy. Rummy insisted that Iraq was a huge mofo threat to our peace, prosperity, freedoms, grandmothers and apple pie. Lehrer covered it like a fake dairy whipped product.

Then we got into the heart of the matter. An extremely moving request by a surviving wife of one of the victims of 9/11 demanding that some one, any one do a GD investigation into what happened. Senators Shelby and Graham were interviewed and flat out said that a-hole like Rummy and the Bushista junta were actively stonewalling the investigation. That contrary to all democratic principles, anything that was said to King George I was an official state secret and could never be revealed. At the hearings, Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic House Whip told the disingenuous staffer being interviewed that if the "community" (code word for a nest of spies) did come clean that there would "be Hell to pay" with the American Public!

And finally. A complete whitewash of the theft of the election in Florida from Janet Reno by Bush, McBride & Cie. conspiring against the will of the people. Grrrr.

A nation run by a criminal conspiracy is so Third World. What did we do to deserve this?

Pissed, Ray

Right on! Clinton was more of a Republican they most of the his opponents. A real master in getting the toughest conservative bills passed against all odds. His personal matters gave the GOPers' the only ammunition they have to criticize him... Soon the Clintons will return to the White House. We sure need a little peace and prosperity again.<g>
