Hi Slider.

Yep, thread got pretty rowdy today.

Late in the day, decided it would be constructive to calm a few folks down. Figured, no harm in a little peace overture. So offered the olive branch to one fellow that was pretty wired. But I'd not had any exchanges with him, for a long time.

This is a guy who got banned from another high quality thread, a few months back, because he mounted a massive, day after day bashing rampage against many regular posters there, climaxing in a 57 post day! It was amazing.

Didn't bother to even reply to the napalm salvos aimed at me, back then. And hadn't posted to him here either, till today.

And what did I get in return for offering the olive branch?

An absolutely venomous PM.<LOL>

If this thread looks like the old SD thread, it's because we've picked up several manipulative and nasty ankle biters - during the past year - who've contributed relatively little on topic, during their months here.

One put on a sudden burst of idea sharing, during the past week, once he realized the pressure was to stop the months of free loading and start adding content here.

Put up with all kinds of under handed gimmicks from that critter, for months, in the interest of thread harmony. But patience has it's limits. So today, out came the chihuahua net.<g>

We had an outstanding core group that started this thread. We then picked up quite a few excellent contributors in our first year. But with as many trips into orbit as this thread has enjoyed via high flying profits? Was inevitable that - sooner or later - we'd pick up a few pieces of space junk.

One constant about chihuahuas. They will just keep coming at the ankles till you give em the net, or give em the boot. Paul Shread, at SA II, has done a great job weeding them out this year. Jane456 left SI entirely, not long after he booted her.

Frank brought up the old SD thread as a destination for one or more of the few we've been carrying here for quite some time now. That sounds good to me. And/or...

We could also provide them "letters of transit"<g> to the financial killing fields of the remaining toy clown dogs we cast out 18 months ago.

FWIW, those are my thoughts about the multiple recent dust ups on the thread.

It's up to Frank to decide what he wants to do.

Best regards,

Isopatch
