Don, Apple has never had any decent marketshare from the top! so there was never anything to lose. They have been primarily a graphics workstation based and educational market computer for decades, both Niche areas.

The general corporate has never taken to Apple.

WRONG! IBMs did well with the bean counters and clerks back in the late '80s and early '90s but Macs took over the high tech companies. All of NASA and all of aerospace was Mac at the worker and engineer level. That was also true of Silicon Valley (excluding Intel, of course). We all got chuckles from the bean counters IBMs. Then the bean counters switched to Macs after Billy Gates developed a tool called Excel for the Mac. He also brought Word to the Mac. Neither ran on a PC, BTW. Gates needed to develop on a real GUI to get the feel of how a GUI worked and how he was going to copy it for Windows. For a while, only fools and those who were ignorant of the Mac's capabilities used PCs. Excel made Lotus 123 look like a joke and Word won out over WordStar.

You are wrong Don :-)

as you've proven many times, people who don't know history, are doomed to keep displaying their ignorance to us over and over again......

and Porsche, BMW, Mercedes and Harley-Davidson use SGI workstations for their most critical part of their business......their Design and simulations..... and these Workstations usually are running Unix variants...... because they actually need to get some work done..... with out the blue screens of death cropping up three times a day like Windows last operating system averaged.....
