Thanks Jon for the review. I therefore didn't have to read as far as the first incorrect information.

I wonder if anyone has spotted any of the dreaded deflation bogeymen roaming the landscape like Al Qaeda terrorists.

There are the Loch Ness Monster, Yeti, Abominable Snowman, Sasquatch, but no Triple-Headed Deflation. I think it must be time to dance around outside singing "Who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf ... la la la, la la?"

Uncle Al has succeeded in avoiding a deflationary implosion - hereby declared by me.

Now, will he be able to avoid the looming inflationary ballooning without precipitating a recession? I believe so. He has got the great productivity technological boom and globalisation on his side, so he can print up a storm and the money will disappear into a billion pockets around the planet, lubricating global trade, without having too many banknotes at a time bidding for a particular banana or cyberphone.

People are also feeling quite softened up, so they'll be reluctant to too quickly abandon money in favour of shares and other inflation-proofed assets - especially as interest rates will be rising.

He was referring to real interest rates, which have been rising depend on how you measure inflation.

However, I agree that Prechter has been mostly wrong over the past 7 years.
