HONG KONG, Sept 20 (Reuters) - China Unicom <0762.HK>, the mainland's No. 2 cellular carrier, said on Friday it had 36.86 million users as of the end of August, including 1.69 million customers on its CDMA-standard network. The firm said on its Web site the number of its GSM cellular user rose 2.96 percent to 35.16 million from July. Subscribers on its CDMA network jumped 34.58 percent from 1.26 million in July.
