I think we have yet to see what real ugliness is like - credit market troubles. I don't think stock markets will be closed, but I do think there will be a major trouble in the futures and options markets, such as bankruptcies and non-payments on contracts. These markets will be regulated in the end by some new government acts, which is, of course, a good thing. Then I'll play futures -g- I think gas, oil, pork bellies, and general commodities futures are "safe" from the system collapse, but not the SP, DOW, treasuries, etc. There is a good chance we'll see the day when some futures markets will have to remain closed due to panic.
