Well, not exactly. The tactic is "let's agree to disagree" or "this ground has been plowed" whenever the wings have been pinned. Agreeable and non-confrontational, but evasive nonetheless.

No, definitely not. We could easily have kept up that exchange over Kepel and Lewis for a good many more posts. There was much wrong with placing the Emerson alongside the Kepel as you did and arguing that Emerson refutes Kepel. But the discussion was already in the mode of repeating charges and, as always with you, moves into that bitter tinge, that is not just short of name calling.

If you would like to have a serious conversation about the "decline thesis", I would enjoy it; but, so long as you think it's all about scoring points and throwing accusations, I've got better things to do with my life. And you should, too.

Relax. You'll have lots of time to do the name calling later on.
