Cary,
Who was FDR's good soldier for 12/7/41. They didnt address that failure for years because of WW2. Since it is my belief we are in WW3 perhaps we should cut the bush admin a little slack too. But your double standard wont allow that, will it? mike

I can only assume that you are referring to the following snip from the article:

"I don't think anybody could have predicted ... that they would try to use an airplane as a missile," Rice said then. "Had this president known a plane would be used as a missile, he would have acted on it."

How is that a cover up. Are you suggesting that Bush could have done something about this before it happened?

I firmly believe that no one could have likely prevented this. Our society/media would have been up in arms if the FAA began targeting Arabs in an attempt to foil an attack. Even with the knowledge of this horrible event, there are major roadblocks to profiling in an attempt to increase the odds of catching another terrorist attack before it happens. Further, even with all this additional scrutiny, passengers have still been able to get banned items on jets with an alarming frequency.

The Israelis are right that our Security check are a joke. Their comments, paraphrased: Our (US) security checks will continue to be a joke until the US target the terrorist rather than the weapon.

You can continue to attempt to cast the idea of a Bush cover up if you like, I don't buy it. The ENTIRE government let us down from the CIA, FBI, INS, Senate Intelligence Committee and the President. No individual is at fault. This is simply to big of a screw up to be the fault of even one administration.

Regards,

JS
