Didn't you point out the difference between US and Israeli self-interest? Colonialism is one form of imperialism and it is not practiced, now. Imperialism is about projecting power and maintaining status quos or effecting change which favors the imperialist's self interest. The US benefits the world, but not in all cases and not as its primary motivation.
