SS programs would be fine if they weren't ponzi schemes. Investment of the funds in municipal, state or national projects (supported by bonds) that were fairly egalitarian would have been one scheme I could have lived with. Total unaccountability for all these years must remind you of the corporate charlatans we all despise.

I don't want or need uncle sam to reward me for decisions I have determined are in my own best interests. The best incentive for good health and financial survival is not a safety net, but good nutritional and financial information is.

Merely working for one's own self-interest would not equate to the GI Bill experience where one sacrificed or risked their life directly for the preservation of the nation.
