Fact: Our technology has improved since the last Gulf War. Smart bombs are now genius bombs...

Fact: Saddam's Army is not in as good shape as it was in 1991 either in numbers or readiness of men and equipment.

Fact: House to house fighting is not a forgone conclusion....and it is the only way Saddam will be able to inflict a signficant number of casualties....

I can only think of a couple of scenarios where the next government of Iraq would be worse than Hussein. If Bin Laden is alive and takes control, or if Hamas or the like gains control. Highly unlikely. As to your scenarios. rooftops are no problem when we have air superiority. The more radicals that we kill in Iraq, the better for the war on terror.
