"In what sense am I real to you...?"

In the common sense.

In three D there are phoneys and there are people who are honest and sincere. The same can happen in the e world. It depends how hard people want to work at providing a false presentation. However, even a con man has real involvement in real situations that effect both him and his mark.

People can play games if they want. In some sense the persona they use during the game is real. The players learn, develop, grow and are enriched by playing a monopoly game. The things people play at, often have more of an effect on defining their character than the mundane routines that offer few tests or challenges to who they are.

"I could be a 'bot of some kind." I doubt that this could be the case in this format but imagine that it were. There would have to be a human behind the bot at some point directing your purposes and that would be the persona of concern. Just like using game pieces on a game board.
