I could never vote for a governor who would say "if my kid gets in trouble, I will use my special powers as governor to make sure they get special treatment and don't suffer the same treatment I will insist that your kid suffers if he does the same thing my kid did."

Me either. That is not what I meant by putting my family first. I would want my kid to receive appropriate correction that effectively helped him or her grow and thrive. Earlier today the thread was advocating leniency for the Arizona med student. That would be the best thing for that kid and society. If that kids father was governor of Arizona I hope the father would be first to stand up for him.
