Hi, Steve:

Considering how much money Texas/Bush/Cheney connected companies like Carlyle and Haliburton make in overseas oil producing nations like Kuwait, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia this is a pretty silly strawman. Wouldn't you agree?

No, not really. If you want the price of oil to rise, you constrict the supply. Correct? Didn't Mr Cheney sell his Halliburton stock when he assumed office? Wasn't that what his political detractors saw as "insider trading" when he was legally compelled to sell?

To further drive up the price of oil, the ANWR would have been placed firmly off limits. Yet the Administration took the opposite stance.
