RR,

Favre is a winner, pure and simple. Same for John Elway (who took several mediocre teams to the Super Bowl on his back).

Hi RR,

I was born a NY Giants fan.
I cheered for them as a kid through all those losing years in the 70's.

My father and I would sit there in front of the tube yelling at the offense for their dumb mistakes while the defense tried their hardest to win games.

My other favorite team is the Green Bay Packers. (Still behind my beloved Giants.)
I like their history.
That's a real football town. In fact, the town owns the team.
I wish I could see more of their games.

Being a Giants fan automatically makes my a hater of the Redskins, Cowboys and Eagles. <g>
Those divisional games against them are usually pretty good battles.

One thing about football that has been bothering me a little is that it almost seems that all the teams have resorted to throwing the ball on most of the downs.
So many teams are running that West Coast Offense.
There is not much of that good old fashioned, grass stuck in the helmut, smash mouth, power running, offense.

I remember watching Earl Cambell with the Houston Oilers running through and over people like freight train.
Or Larry Czonka plowing through the defenders.
How about John Riggins of the Redskins, busting tackles.
Or Walter Payton or OJ running for 100's and hundreds of yards...

I guess the game will eventually cycle back to it, but until then I guess we'll see a lot of the pretty passing.
I guess that's exciting too. I don't know why I bother to complain.
