That does sound scary. Last fall I had shared a similar experience, that we were driving home and the sky lit up for a few seconds like it was daylight. We thought something blew up. My mom was at our house, so it was like we couldn't get home fast enough to make sure everything was ok. In our situation, it was the Northern Lights. Kids still talk about the night the sky lit up.
