Guess that depends on the context, eh?

And how one defines nasty, mean spirited, etc....

I suspect we may disagree on those definitions...

Words SHOULD define YOURSELF ,your being, your personality, your integrity,etc..

Do you understand that your viewpoint is what is being argued against here? There are many here who feel this is all simply "disembodied voices", "game playing", that we cannot prove each other's existence.

To me, that's a prescription for the letting down of some very important rules of respect toward others. Which of, course, is what has happened on this thread.

"Is it OK to throw out NASTY, MEAN-SPIRITED words and expect a NICE, COMPASSIONATE person behind them? I DON'T ..

Good point. A couple of the people on this thread have proposed that persona does not count some how. This has been used to justify all kinds of mean spirited behavior. However, the words and actions of any individual are the main criteria for defining persona, beyond biomass. Any other criteria are primarily based outside of ones control.

You are your words and deeds. After all, what will you really have when all is said and done....you will have to live with all you've said and done, really.

since your post was in reference to what I said, although not posting it to me

I will answer

But one thing just piqued my interest.. " Actions speak louder than words".. Well they do.. But:

'buts' never work

words can be thrown around so easily, they often have little substance

they can be twisted easily too

I can tell you, words to you, if you ever need help just ask me - sounds lovely

I can then turn my back on you when you need help

IF I in fact do help you, my actions have spoken louder than my words

IF I don't, that action has again spoken louder than my words

those words didn't define who I am

my actions did

it's really that simple
