Thanks, Iqbal. It is very flattering to see myself described as an "expert" on the Mideast, all because I have actually, gosh, read multiple history books on the subject. Expertise does not have a very high threshold in the region. One note, when your son reformatted my note he made it seem as if several lines which I wrote had actually come from O Jerusalem!. Stylistically, it's pretty obvious which ones but I wouldn't want to falsely claim a historian's authority for my opinions.
