Yup, High School football is king around here. Dunno if that has anything to do with so many outstanding QB's that hail from these parts. It could be the blue collar work ethic this area is known for. Could be just dumb luck, I dunno.

I know we also have had a lot of outstanding college QB's from around here too (Todd Blackledge, Chuck Fusina, along with the others I mentioned before - all from memory - there are many others). Another, Tom Clements (played in the NFL but was an outstanding CFL QB)

We also have produced some other outstanding talent at other positions, Mike Didka, Tony Dorsett, Ted Kwalick (known as "The Franchise" for the 49ers in the early 70's, but jumped to the WFL for a cool $mil - He is my cousin) quickly come to mind.

Some current tallent in the NFL (note the plethora of QB's) - Anthony Dorsett, TY Law, Charlie Batch, Gus Ferotte, Alex Van Pelt, Curtis Martin, Sean Gilbert, Mike Logan, LaVar Arrington, Brandon Short, Ed McCaffrey, Will Peterson, Jeff Christy, Mike McMahon, Solomon Page, Dave Costa, Artell Hawkins, Justin Kurpeikis, Rob Holmberg, Kevan Barlow, Marc Bulger, Leander Jordan, Bob Slowikowski, Jason Taylor, James Williams & Chad Beasley.

Not too bad for a ghetto laden, backwater dump <ggg>.
