Kirk Herbstreit: I think this is a good Penn State team. I think they have a great deal of desire and motivation because of what has happened the past two years going 5-6 and 5-7. They only way La Tech stays in this game is if Penn State pulls a Michigan State and goes through the motions against an unknown and unrespected opponent. I would be surprised if that happened this weekend in Happy Valley.

By the way, what has killed Penn State the last couple of years has been a lack of big-play ability on offense. This is the area they have improved the most with the versatiltiy of Zak Mills, the powerful running of Larry Johnson and the receiving tandem of Tony and Bryant Johnson. You put all those guys with their best offensive line since '95, Penn State is for real.
