Hawk,

This will get overturned. As will the suits against companies that did business in SA during apartheid.

The reason? The Democrats will think this through and find that their own 'constructive engagement' policies will be in trouble.

If this stands - who would risk importing, exporting or investing in China? After all its not a stretch to say its a dictatorship and that imprisonment, torture and executions have happened in politically motivated circumstances.

If it doesn't get overturned - we will only be able to do business with democracies. But wait - companies that do business with countries that do business with tyrants will be next up - so no doing business with France or Germany :-)

There are actually stocks that are touted as socially responsible. I know folks who won't invest in stocks because the company has nuclear power plants, etc. I'm of course referring to the days when people still invested in the market.
