Saddam should know that what he sees as his two protectors--the UN and US congress have now disappeared. US and a few allies will make it happen if he doesnt do the Full Monti. To maintain power and/or his own personal security he must open up the oil, accept humanitarian aid, set up a timetable for democracy, perhaps retire to some nice place without worry of trials, and admit to and give up all WMD. This could be the october surprise that also by the way would ignite the US stock market. Actually if saddam was really smart he would be buying amat now in anticipation of the next move or shorting it if his vision is indeed horrific. mike
