As soon as the Gov of japan, decided to buy bank shares they compromised their own Bonds. Truly a backward bonehead approach to macro economics! If the Bank of Canada started to buy Royal Bank shares wouldn't that send a clear signal to you, the consumer that the Royal Bank is backed by the Government? When you think that a Banks bonds are normally priced at a higher rate of return than Canada Savings bonds, why buy the CSB's?? Just by a RB 10 year at a higher rate.

Two years ago i said that they only way we could save the US economy was to have the Japanese market turn around. My bet now is that the US comes out before Japan even figures what they do wrong!

Somebody gotta Jap slap thsoe dudes!
