words anywhere can cause emotional harm or benefit

I don't think anyone could dispute that, Tim. The words, "I love you," are about as powerful as it is possible to get.

But then, we are left to have to re-examine the old maxim, "Actions speak louder than words."

And we also have to wonder what it means when an alias says, "I love you." <gg>

Words are used to commit action. I might criticize you. That is an act accomplished entirely using words. A normal person is effected by the context and presentation of criticism. The particular criticism may be constructive or destructive in nature and the receiver of the criticism may respond (act) accordingly. IMO, when all is said and done our words will be more representative of who we are in life than any thing else.
