M - you surprised me with a post showing "morals of the story" that makes as much sense as anything you have said to date. It was nice to hear a contribution for a change that made sense and wasn't filled with foul language that a "moral" person would not use. <g> You hit on one of my themes that I have said for years and that is a positive earnings surprise may bring you 10% gain at best and negative surprises a 50% loss. I don't knowingly buy a stock 2-3 weeks in front of earnings but in front of quarterly earnings like now you are probably right about not holding as well right in front of earnings as demonstrated by ACF, DKWD, ESST, AKLM and EDS recently.
