actually .. value has nothing to do with it ..

perceived value is closer to the problem.

and it's the perception of people that have been trained not to think about stocks very much.

They've been taught " Just put your retirement in the stock market .. it always goes up in the long run .. never look at it. If you look at it, you'll probably do something that you shouldn't."

Then one day they do the dumb thing .. they look at the statement.

Then they take their money away from the stock market.

None of the above has anything to do with PE DD or any of them letters (or excuses).

I figure it'll be about four generations before they find another batch of stupid money that large.
