None of them are simple. The most important thing is that they pay cash based on gold and silver prices, and not directly in precious metals.

The gold pfds (b/c) pay quarterly dividends based on the gold price and have a redemption value of .1 ounce at maturity

The silver pfds (d) pay quarterly dividends based on the silver price, along with an annual dividend equal to .5 ounces of silver. They were issued convertible into 4 ounces, 4 annual dividends of .5 have been paid, leaving 4 more .5 ounce payments.
