IMHO, in certain measure PUHCA caused the Enron phenomenon. I don't know why folks should be upset about ENE. The Market finally recognized its error and punished the enterprise. PUHCA was a bad law written in haste during the middle of the depression. It promotes bad allocation of capital. Our system is far, far different these days. We all learned about Samuel Insull and New Deal Legislation during high school American history class. Time to prune atavistic, frictional legislation out of the system. Public Citizen is Ralph Nader's contribution to the American Socialist scene. Most of its positions are naive and dumb.
