No, they are not, John. They are setting up a case that Saddam has the ability to do these things, and the proven BG of doing them, and that we do not want to leave him in a position to do them at his choosing.

They are also making that case, Bill. I agree. And it is an argument with a bit more power than the "immediate threat" argument. Not convincing since each piece of evidence they trot out gets popped in a couple of days. I gather the disagreements over the facts within the administration are so strong they leak against one another.

But the overriding case for a preemptive attack has been some rather vague arguments about an immediate threat. And that case is not even close to being made.

By the way, I just got Ridley Pearson's new one, The Art of Deception, from the library. I think I recall you reading it at some point. Did you? Was it good?
