My parents (who live in India), just returned their air tickets to visit me, because they are afraid of coming to the US in "these rough times"

I guess the objective has been met.


I'm afraid we've gone from a foreign policy which tried to deal with specific threats and also attempted to foster a better world wide climate for democratic institutions, to a foreign policy what says, quite simply, fear us. I know that's much too simple but it now appears to be the overridng aim of the Bush administration's foreign policy, as evidenced by the their own statements.
