HI Kvkkc1, I wish someone had done a study on how investors who were properly diversified had done versus daytraders in the last 3 years. I would bet my entire net worth that investors did considerably better.

Anyway, I tend to doubt that article a little too. I still have the nagging feeling that that there are larger problems with this economy that are just being concealed well. But since I have no way to guess whether those problems will blow up now or whether it will be 20 years from now. I have only one choice...and that's to continue with my disciplined savings and investment plan that I've been working on for 20 years. If I'm right, then I will have a chance to retire in 10 years according to plan. If I'm wrong, I'll be saying I'm going to retire in 10 years, every year for the next 10 years. :) There has to be a better way to protect your wealth than money market funds. I'm going to continue to choose asset allocation and dollar cost averaging over speculation.

Hey kvkkc1, read this series of articles: financialsense.com

They make alot of sense, but the news isn't good. Anyway, I'm continuing my search for a way to get decent growth (7-9%) over the long term, while minimizing my downside risk in case the economy blows up. I still haven't found it yet, but I'm all ears for anyone that thinks they have.
