Glenn: The Blair statement -- assuming there is compelling evidence -- will be a major step forward in legitimizing a policy of "disarm or else". But if we choose to stop UN inspectors from going to Iraq -- assuming Saddam pledges there will be no conditions -- we are still committed to a policy of regime change that puts us in the camp of "outlaw" from the point of view of international law and the international community -- assuming the Security Council refuses to support our policy, which is quite likely if not completely certain. Blair's information could be used to force a faster inspection deadline and a faster deadline for action -- that would be a sort of "fast-track" disarm or else policy -- but it is still completely different from regime change as a policy.

Glenn,re:"disarm...mass destruction". Isn't that 'arm
race' not so long ago that we were having with Russia
kind of 'weapons of mass destruction'? Of course, we'd
like to disarm the 'bad guys'. Let's go down the list
and 'disarm them 1 by 1'. Hmm ... the list is long
(you think US would add CHINA into the list someday).

I see we have a multi-decade war on hand.

How did we get to this cross-road. Let me guess:

o spending too much time on getting multi-millions (could
be Billion soon) Star-contracts. (any star, sportstars,
entertainment stars, news stars, corporation stars....)
o printing too much money
o hollywood preaching (definitely star qualitiy)

Now, historically, human-beings are known to self-destruct
once-in-a-while. There has not been any exception and we
shouldn't be too hard on ourselves even if we try it and
fail.

That would almost equiv. to if not better than God/Allah/..
