This is exactly the defense of multiculturalism you set up with Rorty; suddenly, it didn't count what anyone else had ever said about multiculuturalism, pro or con; only Rorty's arguments could be legitimately addressed.

No, I gather you simply don't wish to talk directly. Let me simply take the Rorty point. There are, quite obviously, many defenses, arguments for multiculturalism. I've offered my own defense.

I simply find Rorty's arguments for another issue, the absence of independently verifiable universals and the consequent effect on reasoning, to be fairly convincing. Rorty doesn't write a great deal about multiculturalism. Different issue.

He has, on yet another issue, been quite critical of the academic postmodern left for its obtusenss, for its willingness to talk its way into political irrelevance, and for its preference for the perfect.

Again, different arguments, different folk.
