There's nothing "nuts" about paying off a debt, even if it is on excellent terms. There is always a psychic cost to debt, and although this cost is ignored in our materialistic times, I consider it every time I choose to borrow...

Skeeter, I am aware of many people that not only didn't switch to a 15 year mortgage, they took extra cash out because they "needed it."

I'm fortunate I don't have enough of a mortgage left to even bother refinancing. I've paid off extra every month so there's not much left.

The things people are doing are insane.
