Newmont expects record cash flow

"ADELAIDE - Newmont Mining Corp, the world's top gold producer, said on Thursday it expects to record annual operating cash flow of US$750 million by the end the year.

Reuters reports the forecast is based on a gold price of $300 an ounce, Newmont said.

Gold currently fetches around $322 an ounce.

Newmont also said in a statement that it expects to realise savings of $70 million to $80 million due to its acquisitions earlier this year of Australia's Normandy Mining and Canada's Franco-Nevada Mining.

Newmont chief operating officer Wayne Murdy told Reuters on Wednesday a $25 rise in the gold price improved Newmont's earnings by $110 million on an annual basis -- or about 25 cents a share -- and cash flow by about $160 million..."
