That's just ancedotal evidence. The markets anticipate by 6 months to a year.
As far as costs and the like, After arguing with you for years and being told how wrong I was I've come to the conclusion that you live in Camelot.

The only things that have been keeping spending up is the quad-tax-subsidized real estate industry and the auto industry whos giving 0% financing. When those run out of gas the full effects of this fascade will be felt.

Sure most people will have enough to eat out once in a while but there will be less. Those getting a govie check will be better off because the govie can print money. Dudes like you who tried to save and invest will get the shaft, already have. After a prolonged period of "deer in the head light look", disbelief and confusion people will become bitter. I still have my doubts they will really wake up to whats really going on.
