Faced it long ago.

I can appreciate that. I've been waiting for decades to reach old age, when I can be eccentric and get away with it. I've started already and I love it. But.

When one comes to terms with being weird, it seems to me that part of that is recognizing when one is out in left field, maybe doing a few back flips to feel the joy or fan some flames, but then to lay off and not beat everyone in the mainstream to death with it. When you're weird, you can't expect the world to march to your drumbeat, to use your vocabulary, to sing your tune. You sing for a bit to revel in your weirdness, and then give it a rest. Already. Seems to me.
