We had a Snow storm several years ago. It was late in the winter so the trees had already started to bud and leaf out. You couldn't even detect the wind. The snow was so quiet you had to be outdoors to know there was any weather at all. Late at night I heard some popping and cracking as the wait of the snow started to press on itself and compress toward the ground. In the morning one third to one forth of the trees in the Denver area had major damage. I have never experienced such powerful weather with out powerful winds along with it. It was eerie.
