Hi all, lots of posts here to catch up on.

re: sebl,Thanks... no I haven't seen this, pretty negative. Of course I have to wonder how the competition scored, you know thats the problem with these big IT application implementations, the end-user rarely sees the results.

I remember the pain and suffering I as a consultant had to deal with when we were putting systems in at Dell. We required the order takers to get all this info in order to dispatch it to the logistics provider down the line. Of course the order management people didn't see the benefit. And then there were these endless customizations to adhere to everybody's unique business process whether they made sense or not. A very painful process overall but the results are obvious. Since CRM is such a big hit and sebl defined the industry its hard for me to believe that everything they do "sucks", although I realize they are suffering from that stigma now, as are many IT companies.

The I2/Nike deal was really telling... they way I heard it was the clothing division of Nike was happy with manugistics currently installed, footware wanted I2 and a standard approach across all lines, (I can't even imagine how to standardize clothing and footwear from a mfg perspective) ,,, anyway the 2 divisions squabbled and finally it went in unsuccessfully. The next thing you know Phil Knight is on cnbc bashing I2. This kind of thing is so tiresome.
